Use These Social Media Scripts To Build Your Business
So many people have used Social Media to build a thriving business (including me) and you can do the same thing.
It doesn't matter if you are selling products, services or recruiting for your business, what you are about to read is going to help you.
Usually on social media you are dealing with Cold Mark prospects (people you don't know). Your goal is to move them from Cold Market to Warm Market and then to Hot Market as fast as possible.
There is a right way and a wrong way.
This Is What You Should Not Do
When talking to someone on social media, you never want to share a link to your products, service , or business unless either they have asked you for it or they have given you permission for it.
Your goal is to create curiosity while you are promoting. People on Social Media want to get to know you. So when sharing content, share lifestyle posts and share some stories.
Instead of just spamming your link, be a professional and book appointments whether it in person, on the phone, or possibly on Skype.
What You Need To Do On Social Media
Make sure your profile looks professional. Think about this. When someone sends me a friend request or preferably a message, the first thing I do is take a look at their profile.
People do the same thing to you. Go check your profile and see it makes you look like a credible person. Someone that people will want to do business with.
Here Are My Social Media Scripts
I probably said that wrong because I don't really use scripts. I talk like I normally do but I do use a three message formula on Social Media.
When you find people in your target market, the first thing you want to do is introduce yourself.
Now I look for something in common or maybe where they live or grow up.
For Instance: I'm kind of a sports junkie so if I see they like a certain football team I might say something like this, “Hey _____, I saw you were a Steelers fan on your profile. Man I really like watching football. I'm originally from Wisconsin so of course I'm a Packer's fan. Just curious, how long have you been a Steelers Fan?”
My goal is to ask them a question and try to get them to respond. Remember you are just trying to meet someone. Trying to build up your network.
2) Find out if they keep their options open?
This might not be happening in your second message to them but at some time you need to ask if they keep their options open.
Something like this: Man _____, that is so cool you started watching the Steelers during the Steel Curtain era. I was cheering them on then too. Hey just a quick question. I really like people who have the same interests as me, by chance if a side business would fit your schedule, do you keep your options open?
I'm looking for a no or a yes. I don't want to hear maybe and yet you do.
If it's a no, I'm moving on and I don't contact them again or at least for awhile. It's it's a yes or a strong maybe I set up an appointment to talk to them.
3) Set The Appointment
Your goal should be to get them either on a phone, Skype, or sharing a computer screen. If they have said they would be interested in learning more then I'll go through something like this.
“That's great. Can you shoot me a few times when you're free this week for about 15 minutes. Where you are sitting in front of your computer. Tuesday and Wednesday work best for me would either one of those days work for you? Cool, how about Tuesday 4:30pm EST. Here's my number XXX_XXX_XXXX so you know who's calling. What's the best number for you?”
